Pre-Conception Cleanse Program

Are you considering getting pregnant some time in the near or even distant future?  Then, this program is for youMany women come to me wanting to detox before conceiving, and I want to share with you why it is important to give yourself plenty of time to do it.

Many women focus on the “health” of the nursery, the purity of products, the safety of clothing and bedding. They picture a brand new baby joining their family, pure from all of the exposures that adults have experienced. They want to protect this new being from any harm for as long as possible. They plan to make the baby food, store it in glass containers, breast feed for as long as possible. All of these things are really important, and if you’re thinking about them, you’re on the right track.

However, I want to start helping women think ahead, even further.

I want them to think about fertility and the health of their baby long before they have found a partner to have that baby with. I want them to start considering their environmental exposures, their daily lifestyle habits, their diets and supplements, and much more, long before that pregnancy test says “yes.”  Ideally, if you want to conceive at some point in your life, this may already be in the back of your mind. Realistically, this may take a few generations to become part of the way we think as fertile women.

The good news is that we can undo most of what has been done. We just need the appropriate amount of time to do it.

It takes longer than one month.

Starting this process is helpful for reducing your toxic load, but you might be surprised that you’ll need more time than you anticipate to eliminate these compounds.  For most of us, it took longer than a year to accumulate these toxins in our bodies, and it will take some time to remove them.

I suggest at least a year for this process.

I know that can seem like forever! I would suggest avoiding a detox if you only have one month before you hope to conceive as it will not be helpful to the overall health of the fetus. A shorter detox can create an increased elimination of toxins, which passes through the digestive system, liver, and kidneys. If these toxins don’t make it all the way out before conception, this may unnecessarily expose a fetus. All toxins will eventually pass through the maternal circulation to the fetus. Our body is not designed to separate the good from the bad in this way.

Protect the fetus.

As we we go through our lives, we are like little collectors of everything from memories to chemicals we come into contact with. Some of them are easily excreted and some of them will stay put until we intentionally go and retrieve them. Once you begin the process of “retrieval” or detoxification, you will pull toxic compounds from many places where they have been stored for, quite possibly, many years— bone, brain, tissue, fat, etc.

New research has now shown that obese women are more likely to have a child with a neuro-developmental disorder such as ADHD, anxiety, insomnia, depression, and even autism.

We store toxins in our fat cells, and the greater the toxic load, the greater exposure a fetus will have and the greater chance of the delicate neurologic system becoming affected.

The rates of neuro-developmental disorders are rising fast.

Hundreds of thousands of children are diagnosed every year on the Autism spectrum.  Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is reportedly affecting our kids at a rate of 1 in 6 (1).

There is likely not one factor that we can attribute this to, yet we know the delicate relationship between the environment and genes plays a significant role.

Chronic low level exposures to toxins in our environment can also lead to genetic changes that lead to neuro-developmental disorders. Lowering your total body toxic burden, supporting your biochemistry with the correct nutrients, and optimizing detoxification pathways prior to conception can help ensure the healthiest and safest arrival of your newborn.

Detoxification may help reduce obstacles to fertility.

Here are some disheartening facts:

  • 7.4 million women, or 11.9% of women, have received some infertility services in their lifetime. (2)
  • 1 in 8 couples (or 12% of married women) have trouble getting pregnant or sustaining a pregnancy. (3)
  • Of those struggling with infertility, 1/3 of the causes are attributable to the woman and 1/3 are attributable to the man.

The remaining 1/3 of diagnosed infertile patients have no diagnosis— that is, for these patients there is no clear diagnosis for their infertility. Their egg quality is good, and their partner’s sperm has adequate motility and morphology. There are no structural problems preventing the egg from being fertilized. So, what is the obstacle? Sometimes, we never know. If you are struggling with infertility, detoxification can be the silent answer for optimal conception.

Focus on optimizing your health and environment before conceiving, not once you’re pregnant or after the baby gets here.

We tend to focus on the health of the environment after the baby has arrived, but a better investment in your child’s health is cleaning up your internal (physical) environment before he or she is even conceived.

Reduce your toxic load to improve the health outcome of your child.

This thinking is an entirely new direction that is preventative and proactive, and it involves dietary and lifestyle changes as well as specific testing and targeted detox therapies.

Is This Program Right for You?

My Pre-Conception Cleanse Program is for any woman or man who wants to ensure the healthiest outcome for their future child and take proactive steps to prepare their body and their environment for optimal reproductive health. Is is also perfect for anyone who has:

Struggled with infertility

Experienced one or more miscarriages

One or more children with ADHD, Autism or other neuro-developmental disorder

I created this 4-week program to give you the tools and guidance to prepare you for pregnancy and get you started on a path toward a healthier life. Pre-conception cleansing is more important now than ever. Obviously, the health of the mother and the baby are intricately intertwined, and many women don’t even know they’re pregnant until after the critical 3-week mark when all of the fetal organs have been formed, the neural tube is created, and the fetal maternal circulation has been set up. The mother determines the health of the baby— good or bad — from that point on. And yes, if you’re wondering, so does the father. More and more studies are linking paternal health the the health of the baby.

So, what can be done to ensure the safest and healthiest entry into this world? Fortunately, A LOT, and this program will show you exactly what you can do.
