Are you considering getting pregnant some time in the near or even distant future? Then, this program is for you. Many women come to me wanting to detox before conceiving, and I want to share with you why it is important to give yourself plenty of time to do it.
Many women focus on the “health” of the nursery, the purity of products, the safety of clothing and bedding. They picture a brand new baby joining their family, pure from all of the exposures that adults have experienced. They want to protect this new being from any harm for as long as possible. They plan to make the baby food, store it in glass containers, breast feed for as long as possible. All of these things are really important, and if you’re thinking about them, you’re on the right track.
However, I want to start helping women think ahead, even further.
I want them to think about fertility and the health of their baby long before they have found a partner to have that baby with. I want them to start considering their environmental exposures, their daily lifestyle habits, their diets and supplements, and much more, long before that pregnancy test says “yes.” Ideally, if you want to conceive at some point in your life, this may already be in the back of your mind. Realistically, this may take a few generations to become part of the way we think as fertile women.
The good news is that we can undo most of what has been done. We just need the appropriate amount of time to do it.
